UNDERSTANDING ENERGY

MEDITATION

Meditation, which is essentially a focusing of energy through conscious mental activity, is relatively new to the Western races and is consequently regarded by many people with suspicion or as being a totally unnecessary feature of daily living. With historical regard however, it is not difficult to see many cultures who have developed great spiritual insight and ability by placing importance on the practice of meditation.

All the sages and great teachers of the human kingdom, those men and women who have constructively assisted the intelligent development of each group or race they were associated with, clearly used and encouraged meditation. For anyone who is interested tracing the use and influence of meditation in all races and cultures will show not only how long we have been aware of this ability of mind but also its significant effects when practiced intelligently.

In the world we presently live in, where our focus and attention is almost totally engulfed in confusion, noise, fear, suspicion and chaos, producing an outlook that can barely see the great physical beauty that surrounds us or the vast potential within each person, the one condition we need more than any other is Peace. Without peace, stillness of body and mind, if only for brief periods of time, we are like puppets dancing to a future we have absolutely no control of and one which we encourage, even if we do not like what we see, by our spiritual laziness.

Meditation requires the preparedness to seek peace. Peace of mind and body are absolutely essential to anyone who would break the cycle of blindness that threatens to engulf the human kingdom. Therefore the first requirements of meditation are not difficult to achieve and produces no discomforts or unacceptable conditions.

Find somewhere you enjoy to be and where you will not be disturbed. Sit quietly and comfortably, relaxed but attentive, allowing only the natural sounds to surround you. Calm the inner voice of your daily life to a point of silence and breath with an even unforced rhythm. These are the first steps in meditation and may be a little difficult for some to achieve at first. Peace is a natural condition of everyone but frequently has to be encouraged or re-learnt.

The aim of meditation has always been to hear the inner voice. In the case of each of us this is the voice of the soul. Where the soul meditates this voice is the spirit. When meditation is successfully achieved by each of us, the energies directly of the soul and indirectly of the Spirit enter, developing our abilities of consciousness and daily activities.

The energy of Love and the Light of wisdom are increased as the darkness that blinds is overcome.

The ability to respond to the soul, although greatly important in this time of change, now includes a condition of contact that is of major significance to all who are able to hear.

The second requirement of meditation therefore is not difficult. Having achieved a peaceful stance, which includes calming your own sound and voice, listen to the Voice within. This may at first be difficult to recognise but with perseverance and patience there is always a response. Initially the contact will be between soul and personality but where this is successful further contact with more developed souls begins. These prepare the way for the Son of God.

It is not by accident that each of us are here in this period and how we respond has great importance.

The third requirement of meditation is also simple. Each day, preferably in the morning for 20 - 30 minutes, sit quietly and peacefully and listen to the voice of Light and Love within. Then once a week do the same as a group, even if there are only two or three who are able to form such a gathering. Begin the group meditation with a prayer and recognise all within the gathering as equal members who seek to increase the Light and Love so urgently needed in this world today.

All who respond in this manner, however improbable it may seem, safeguard all life on this planet of beauty and ensure the future greatness of the human kingdom. No effort to reflect Light through the actions of wisdom is too small. No seeking of Love is wasted.

For some people in this period meditation may prove to be too challenging and needs to be approached in a somewhat different fashion. Here the easiest approach is simple. When responding to other people in either a direct or indirect manner before any action or decision is reached, ---- pause and consider. Respond to another as you would have them respond to you.

The circumstances of life change rapidly and to ignore this only indicates a continuing blindness. We are all dependant on each other, even if this seems totally improbable. For too long we have listened to voices that encourage separatism, self-interest, fear and greed. These are not natural conditions of living beings who each have within them the Divine Spark of that consciousness we call God.

Man is not some unimportant existence of no worth, destined to live in slavery and blindness, to live in fear, to attack and destroy in all manner of tragic ways each other and all life, to respond with hate and anger instead of Love, or to live almost entirely engulfed by darkness when all could be Light. The destiny of each of us is to express the force of Love that flows through and permeates all living things and to respond to all life with the Light of wisdom.

This is the reason for our existence. Such possibilities of greatness that can be expressed by the human kingdom should never be taken for granted and always require intelligent effort to be achieved. Listen to the voice of Light and Love within each of us and know that it is our own. It is one we share with all who hear and respond regardless of where they are.

Forgive the mistakes we all make as confusions of blindness and seek the qualities of beauty and possibility we all have. We are not destined to be slaves of darkness but instead Brothers of Light. This is the reason for meditation.

May Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth
