The majority of men and women in this period of the growth of the human kingdom are what could be termed practical mystics. In the past a mystic was one who sought greater understandings of the nature of Life by moving into a state of isolation, sometimes for days and for others years or in extreme cases an entire lifetime.
The concept behind these approaches was that daily activity produced too many disturbing influences for the person concerned, making it greatly difficult to apprehend the universal awareness that was being sought. Extreme forms of meditation were used and where success was achieved the mystic, either male or female, returned to the area or race they were most familiar with and became teachers and guides to those who showed interest or ability.
Even though we do not clearly appreciate these efforts in respect of our own present development, activities that seem so remote from an urgent and demanding world, without these achievements by those men and women from our past our ability to comprehend and respond to spiritual energy would be almost non-existent.
Such seekers and seers were regarded as an extremely important part of a group or race and great encouragement was often given to them in their endeavours. It is perhaps to our detriment that we have forgotten what was well understood by earlier races.
All races and collections of people have within their midst men and women who are able to comprehend the universal understandings of the nature of Life and it is by their efforts, energy and intelligent contribution that the strength and conscious health of a group is maintained. Where this is ignored the society immediately places itself at risk.
In our present world of speed and urgency dominated by thinking which is excessively focused in the material value of an object, little consideration is placed upon the universal aspect of Life.
No economic or social gain can bee seen in endeavours in this area and therefore those men and women of all ages who have the capacity of response necessary are given no encouragement to develop. Their focus is forced into what could be considered a total reversal of their abilities.
We wonder at the increasing rate of suicide amongst the young of many nations; perhaps we should seriously regard the values that are offered to them and the great limitation of a society whose outlook is focused in materialism.
Yet in the midst of all this disregard grows the flower of the practical mystic. It is not possible nor should it be so, to ignore the world we live in and seek knowledge through isolation. This was a method suitable for our past but one which is not related to our present abilities or situation. The efforts of the individual now become the efforts of the group.
This group approach to seeking a greater understanding and ability to intelligently work with the energy of Love is a relatively recent one in our development and indicates the future direction our societies will take. It is one where the isolated view of nationalism or economic and racial separatism gives way to collective opportunities of individual input. Purpose and unity ceases being a vague dream as the human kingdom, responding with intelligence, activates energies that offer vast potential.
Probably the best example of development in collective energy that is familiar to many and although only a tool suffering from the usual abuse, is the development of the inter-net. This mechanical means of transferring conscious energy throughout the human kingdom is the indication of one of the future activities of the mind termed telepathy.
This ability is as yet mostly dormant but will begin to develop in the near future, particularly amongst those people who seek to comprehend and respond to spiritual energy.
In previous races and presently in those of the world of today, effort to comprehend and improve telepathic ability with the aim towards warfare has been undertaken. This extremely confused view as to what telepathy really represents causes the ability to be able to be observed but to remain out of reach.
The future resides in the efforts of those men and women who seek, work and reflect the energies of Light and Love. When the time is appropriate this capacity of energy transference will return without effort.
In the mid 1930's an opportunity of participation in group meditation in a manner new to this planet was established by a small number of men whose abilities and deep insight made them aware of the coming needs and requirements of the human kingdom. At first this was responded to by only a few men and women but it has become of increasing significance to many others throughout the world.
The concept was based upon the focusing of the dual energies of Love and Wisdom separately during a specific period and making this enhanced level available to all who attempted to respond through meditation.
In this manner the collective soul of the human kingdom begins to respond to the collective conscious of the human kingdom The energy developed in such a manner always enhances the individual consciousness and ability.
The first of these dual energies is focused in May and the second in June; the period in both months where the greatest amount of energy free from restrictions, occurs at the point of the full moon. The moon has nothing to do whatsoever with these energies being itself simply a dead planet and a centre of old astral energies.
In the case of these meditations the moon should be regarded rather like the hands of a clock pointing to a particular time.
Such focused meditation carries with it deep insight.
All one has to do is sight quietly and meditate as towards the soul. Know when this is being done that there are many many others who seek and respond as you do.
Actively working at developing the mind of the human kingdom by meditation towards the soul of the human kingdom is a natural requirement of growth and one which will be totally familiar to humanity in the future.
For some people this concept may be difficult to accept and the importance of it will prove to be illusive to the mind; this is natural as we are all at different points of growth. However where there is a response the idea should be explored.
Now when considering a practical mystic more closely we need to be aware that as the name implies they are working with the dual activities of one energy. A mystic seeks the energy and consciousness of Love and when this is successful a response occurs within them and they then reflect an aspect of this force. A practical mystic also seeks the same energy of Love but the reflection is through daily activities which consciously carry this force.
Between the heart centre and the head centre in the etheric body there is a cord which is still relatively dominant that transfers energy from one of these centres to the other. The activities of a practical mystic causes energy to flow in increased amounts along this point of contact. Reflected in conscious ability this can be seen as a definite lowering of the energies of personal desire, emotional and sentimental outlook and all the many responses that cause us to be unable to take an inclusive view of humanity or each other.
This is replaced by an increasing understanding of the unity of all life and the nature of that energy we each express. Such awareness is reflected in a greatly improved regard of the significance of coexistence and brotherhood.
This energy is then reflected in the mental and physical activities of the practical mystic as they work alongside other members of the human kingdom.
Through all these activities, either towards spiritual understanding or in its application, the key to a successful practical mystic resides in comprehending the point of balance between seeking and reflecting. This differs for each person and depends on the stage of development that has been reached, but to force activity in one area at the expense of the other will produce results that are personally harmful.
Absorbing and reflecting energy is an activity duplicated by breathing and great success is always found where the approach is relaxed and unforced.
The ability to use the mind in balance with the heart producing activities based on thought generated in such a manner is always an indication of a successful practical mystic. To achieve these results the initial approach is always through meditation.
Often this is accomplished without any real awareness of the activity. There are many men and women highly proficient at meditation who would deny ever having used this process of mental focussing.
In the activity of focused thought based on attempting to improve a condition effecting other people can be seen meditation. This approach conflicts in Western thought with the rather stereo typed view of more traditional meditation, however both methods are extremely important. A greatly successful practical mystic can easily be someone who has absolutely no knowledge of the universal aspects if life but does recognise the quality of the brotherhood of man and makes every attempt to improve that condition.
Perhaps they sit in as office contemplating and trying to develop an idea which aims to be of benefit to those about them. Perhaps they are in areas of science for example, medicine, psychology, physics etc., and through great mental effort develop some activity that is seen as a benefit for all humanity. Perhaps the contemplation may be based on how to help and be of constructive service to another person.
Throughout all the efforts the personal individual gain is never a consideration.
These are only some of the approaches able to be made as practical meditation becomes a recognised valuable tool of Western thought. The aspiration that is behind all of these efforts benefits the human kingdom and increases the conscious energy of Light and Love.
There are many men and women who knowingly or not, actively work with the energies of the mind of the human kingdom and the soul of the human kingdom with great success, often remaining unseen they increase the Light and Love entering humanity. All aspects of life benefit.
Each person a modern practical mystic and a member of the brotherhood of man seeking to bring Light to places where it is needed.
May the strength of the Brotherhood of Light guide you always.
