Understanding the existence and make up of the causal body marks an important development in our conscious ability. For the first time we are able to begin understanding reasons for existence which have previously only been dimly comprehended.
A large collection of knowledge concerning this energy body has been amassed by the endeavours of men and women from the past who, after achieving awareness and ability, left behind them clear descriptions and the necessary methods of approach and development.
Before we can work with such refinements of energy that represent the body of the soul, which the causal body is, study of its reality is necessary. This can be somewhat difficult at first as there are not only many new ideas to deal with but also a conflict of terms occasionally appears. However the effort at understanding is needed as it produces an ability within the cells of the brain which enables a comprehensive approach to this body of energy.
What follows is a very simplified presentation of the knowledge that is presently available to Western thought.
The causal body is located on the plane of mind and at its centre is what is termed a permanent atom. This is not to be confused with our present understanding of an atom which relates to a structure experiencing alterations of energy quality. A permanent atom has only one energy quality but expresses various degrees of intensity. It is a small spark of energy that having descended from the plane of Spirit now resides in the planes of dense physical matter.
This is the Divine Spark in each of us. It is the beating heart of the causal body and for the majority of men and women it is an extremely small point of energy which can be seen at the centre of this energy body. The spark of the present becomes the flame of the future by our efforts.
The soul, seeking expression in the worlds of dense physical matter by attempting to develop energies that are available at differing points and periods in time and space, does so through man. Each of us are temporary expressions of soul, living lives and working with energy, all of us located with purpose and nothing by chance. Briefly on a larger scale, nothing exists without cause, no action is random and very definitely no activity or life expression is by chance. There is a Plan.
The soul constantly seeks to express the energies of Love and Wisdom that each of us can develop but may have to wait for many forms to be born and pass before this begins.
Man is not born with active soul consciousness and the first sight and developments of awareness are always based on the world of physical matter. As all our physical senses begin to function reality becomes increasingly related to what they respond to.
Slowly the relationship between the soul and man becomes more distant until the arrival of those teachers and guides, clearly visible in our history, who reverse this trend. With their successful work, understanding of the relationship between man and soul begins and activities of energy in both bodies commences.
In the case of man this appears as the understanding of the uniting nature of Love and the attempts to comprehend the Whole in relation to the part. As we each begin to direct our own lives on the path of intelligent, practical application of spiritual energy, the success we achieve, which often goes unnoticed even by ourselves, becomes part of the overall quality being developed by the soul. The soul seeks those aspects of energy we term Love and Wisdom as they are expressed by our consciousness.
At the end of a temporary life in time and space it is these dual energies, successfully developed, that become part of the causal body. No other energy developed during the activities of daily living is stored there. Astral and emotional energies are most definitely not a part of the soul body.
This is a body of energy constructed from the collective conscious wisdom gained by the efforts of many lives lived in time and space that the soul has undergone.
Each of us have a causal body and this base of great knowledge can be reached through the use of the intuition. This is the collective consciousness of each individual and the human kingdom. By our intelligent work with energy we each build the causal body, which after many lifetimes of achievement eventually reaches completed development.
This body of consciousness then becomes an active part of the soul consciousness and is referred to as Universal Mind.
The consciousness each of us develop through working with Love and Wisdom becomes the eternal aspect held within the soul. However remote this may seem from our daily lives it is nevertheless directly related to all our activities.
When we meditate with a "seed thought" or contemplate an ideal or idea, the response generally comes from our own causal bodies. As we become more proficient at this form of contact greater understanding achieved by men and women before us is instantly available. That which may have been complex can be regarded with an increased Light and responded to with ease.
Developing this form of contact through the use of the intuition or by meditation allows us to begin to comprehend and respond to the greater realities of Life that had previously escaped our attention.
Activity and quality of energy being developed in the soul body is always reflected in each of us. This is always centred upon the capacity to work with spiritual energy; where there is a man or woman regardless of race or culture who responds to life with intelligence and practically applied Love, here can be seen the strength and developed ability of the causal or soul body.
It is the need of the soul, seeking through the development of the causal body greater consciousness expression of Love and Wisdom, that is the reason for our existence. It is the need within each of us to seek and work successfully with the spiritual energies of Light and Love that develops the causal body.
This is the marriage of soul and man beginning, developing, completing, to be seen all around each of us in all the activities of the human kingdom. Such a concept of a constant flow of energy from soul to man and man to soul may at first be rather difficult to either accept or understand. However if encouragement is needed seek and find the path walked by men and women before us and listen to their words of understanding. Or look with your own intuition to the voice of the causal body that is a part of you.
If these approaches are too difficult, simply working with compassion, patience, and the understanding of the brotherhood of man in all the daily activities that surround us, without self-interest interfering will produce constructive developments within the causal body and be quite sufficient.
Some of us need this form of approach, but for others the development of mind and intuition are of greater use.
The five bodies of energy that collectively form what we term man are the causal body, the mental unit, the astral body, the etheric body and the physical body. Some of these energy bodies are more active than others in each of us but eventually as we begin to learn how to focus and control the movements of energy greater balance is achieved. Where there once may have been an overly active energy body developing at the expense of all the others, when what is termed "the perfect man" is approached, all the centres will be found to be working as one unit.
A perfect man is either a man or a woman who has achieved full control in each energy body and complete balance between all of them.
Growth to this level has been slow in coming for the Human Kingdom. We show such promise and ability at times only to turn away and ignore the obvious. Many guides and teachers have come and for a moment we see what can be reached, but for most it is only a moment soon to be lost. Small wonder that we are called "the poor little ones"
The destiny for each of us is to reach the state of perfection that has been described which opens doors of consciousness that remain beyond words. With our individual daily effort seeming so unimportant in relation to the soul, it is easy to forget that how we approach each other does have a significant effect on our energy bodies and the development of the perfect man we each represent.
Ideas, thoughts, words, actions, etc., are activities that produce energy that can either be harmful or constructive and should be used with care. In the West we place increasing attention on the physical body knowing how dependant we are upon its abilities, but how much attention do we place on the other four bodies that are equally important ?
In this area of thought resides much that will be of great interest and clearly indicates the future for the human kingdom.
Those men and women who have journeyed before us and have achieved high levels of perfection have been the principal guides and teachers for humanity. Having accomplished much through lifetimes of events we all experience and in the process learning degrees of energy control that are as yet to be developed by the majority of people, they stand together and reflect the conscious energy of Light and Love on the human kingdom. They are the guarantee of the success able to be reached by all who seek to respond.
Such souls of great ability we call masters but they will only acknowledge the term brother. Their ideals, ideas, thoughts, words and actions have great strength of Light, Love and Purpose, and they can be found with ease when common sense or the intuition are used.
Where this approach is not followed and we reach with our desires for such energy, often we find men and women who freely call themselves masters but are as blind to Reality as those who seek their assistance.
Always use your intuition. Be cautious. The honest use of the intuition should never be ignored.
In this manner a brother of light after many lives lived successfully as a son of man becomes a Son of God.
