The laws of man developed out of observation as in science, or group need, such as those that protect social growth, frequently change with the growing demands and abilities of the human kingdom. At times such alterations in the direction of thought can produce massive upheaval and at others a more gradual effect is achieved.
The laws we construct and live by are a most necessary part of our growth. Where a society recognises the reason for the need of change to them and proceeds to do so with intelligent understanding, the effect on each member of the group can be far less dramatic than those responses we are used to seeing which appear to be based on rather short sighted experiment.
The greatest difficulty we have is to understand clearly why laws need to change as man develops.
Our history of change, particularly for modern societies is based on an extremely limited view as to the nature of man and the influences that cause alterations of thought within all of us. Where these effects are conditioned by great energy the reaction in our outlook is always dramatic and falls into a dual response.
Within the group or race will be found those people who respond to the need for change and will react generally constructively. The complete inability and rejection of change or alterations of development will be the outlook of the remainder of the group. These dual reactions seen projected throughout all our history as the great struggles of man are a natural response to a lack of understanding of a universal law.
This is the law of cause and effect.
A universal law relates to the movement of energy as it affects all Life and is essentially part of the blueprint describing consciousness and form. Where the laws of man are in a constant state of flux, universal law does not alter and remains the same for all levels of conscious development.
Where the form can be considered the face of God, universal law may be regarded as the will or intended purpose which effects all Life.
Comprehending and responding to these laws intelligently has been the approach many men and women have undertaken successfully, but they have generally been of a limited and individual nature. Now in the growth of the human kingdom there is a capacity for a greater collective awareness and response, which in the future will produce societies capable of responding intelligently to alterations of energy affecting consciousness.
Patience, understanding and assistance extended to those people who find difficulty in response will be a quality of such societies and the energy of war will begin to be overcome, as will many other restricting energies that hold back the human kingdom from its potential greatness.
We all understand the law of cause and effect having seen it countless times in all the activities that surround us. In science it is presented with the understanding that "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" How often do we consider the significance of this law in our daily lives?
Even from the limited perception of man it relates to energy exchange and as such is a fundamental part of our development, which when ignored produces results that are often potentially dangerous to everyone.
When viewed in its universal nature it relates soul as the cause and man as the effect.
All the teachings given to the human kingdom by the Sons of God and the perfecting Brothers of Light, have been to encourage a basic understanding and ability to respond to Life. In essence showing the greater cause and indicating the effect. The awareness of all great religions is the universal law of cause and effect. Love is the essential nature and quality of energy in each of us and is the universal cause, how we respond both individually and collectively is the effect.
Constantly within the dense physical world of form there are movements of energy that effect the physical, etheric, astral and mental bodies of each of us. Sometimes such activity only effects one energy body but on other occasions all these bodies react producing activities in consciousness that are very apparent. These activities of energy can be predicted and it is here that the use of astrology will be of benefit to man in the future.
Earlier races had a very basic awareness of these waves of energy as they cyclically appeared and effected man, whilst amongst these there were some who developed a high degree of skill and understanding. Astrology, in its ability to recognise the pattern of the waves of energy as they flow through and effect all life expressions will be of major assistance in our future ability to intelligently respond to the universal law of cause and effect.
It is the unfortunate ability of man to create toys out of gifts of great knowledge and astrology is no exception. The present trivial use by the majority of people is most definitely not a quality that will be seen in the future when we begin to regard it as a science of importance. With good reason men and women presently regard astrology with caution but it should also be understood that even though there are many who misuse this energy of consciousness to their own advantage, there are people who see clearly its potential and work steadily towards this future science with intelligence.
The alteration of energy that the human kingdom and the entire planet is undergoing was able to be predicted by many men and women both past and present who have been proficient in astrology. This information unfortunately has been of little use to the majority of people as our present reactions and responses clearly indicate. Such polarising of the human kingdom that can easily be seen and the extremes of reaction are not the indication of societies working intelligently with the laws of cause and effect focused by a large alteration of energy.
Yet in the midst of all this developing confusion stand men and women focusing, reflecting and working with spiritual energy.
Reacting intelligently and positively to the change, each developing the conscious energy available in this period that will become the future addition to the soul body. Such large alterations of energy that we are all experiencing knowingly or not, allow major growth to occur in the soul body of the human kingdom. Although we may see the effects as being extremely negative for all of us, and there are many attempts to develop this fear within people, they in fact allow major growth to occur when we respond both individually and collectively with intelligence.
This alteration of energy will enable the human kingdom to more clearly understand and work with the many energies that constantly surround us, particularly in the area of structure and ritual.
This period is one where the collective Light within the soul body of the human kingdom can be developed. It is one where the knowledge gained and stored in such a manner will become the heritage of future humanity.
To experience and react to this alteration of energy is the reason why each of us are here.
No part of life is by chance.
This is the fundamental nature of the universal law of cause and effect.
Magnetism
The universal law of magnetism when correctly understood and applied allows the commencement of the control of energy flowing through any body of form. In the case of man this can be seen as attraction where energy enters the body and repulsion when the flow is closed off. Each of us constantly reflect one of these conditions.
We are generally totally unaware of this activity which is always displayed in our state of consciousness and levels of energy being radiated from the physical body. To each person it is as important as breathing, bringing to the mental, astral and etheric bodies energy which is vital for their functioning.
In some early practices of yoga great emphasis was placed on controlled physical breathing, with the intention to gain increased levels of conscious awareness and body energy. Even today, although our needs are quite different, there are still people who follow these teachings and although there will be some results found they fail to realise that such efforts are really of little benefit at our present point of development.
The early guides and teachers who encouraged controlled physical breathing did so with the awareness that it was a necessary first step towards the present ability of man which is "controlled mental breathing" This is the capacity to attract energy and when required to repel the same energy by conscious mental effort.
It is an activity that when it has begun to be successfully developed will give to each person who has achieved control greater ability to work with the extremely wide range of energies evolving in all other kingdoms.
At present there is beginning to be an increasing awareness of the Deva Kingdom. This is developing in what could be called a parallel manner to humans and can only be safely approached when an ability to focus and direct spiritual energy has been accomplished. Any other approach is definitely not wise. The deva kingdom begins to be realised by man in relationship to the vegetable kingdom and it is not until the plane of the intuition is a practical reality that man and deva come together without harm. With study and patience comes understanding and ability.
For man the greatest and most direct form of spiritual energy comes from the soul and it is here that the abilities of attraction and repulsion of energy need to be first comprehended and then applied. The process is essentially quite simple. Energy enters from the soul into man and then circulates through the three principal bodies eventually to be radiated out to other lives.
By our efforts we become attractive to the energy of the soul and when we have reached a point of saturation, rather like a cup full of water, this flow is shut off by repulsion. This point of saturation now makes us attractive to other life forms that can benefit from the energy we presently hold. They can be other members of the human kingdom or other kingdoms.
The energy in such a saturated body is circulated internally and eventually is radiated out to those other forms that are attracted to it. The radiating out of energy in time depletes the levels and saturation becomes need. Repulsion stops the flow out of the body and attraction once again attracts energy from the soul, spiritual energy flows into the body. This concept may be difficult to initially appreciate and can perhaps be better grasped in the following manner.
Energy always flows from where there is more to where there is less. Probably the easiest comparison is in the movement of wind from high pressure areas to low pressure zones.
In the case of man the soul being the cause always has more energy and this condition can be termed positive. Man having less energy is termed negative.
Energy flows from the positive condition of the soul to the negative state of man. This in flowing, eventually as saturation is reached, causes man to become positive to the soul and the flow is temporarily closed off. Man now is positive to other forms which having less energy are termed negative. These can be other humans etc.
A flow begins from man until the receiving body having absorbed energy becomes itself positive and the in flowing ceases. Man becomes again negative to the soul and once more spiritual energy flows. This constant movement of energy never ceases but the strength of it can be altered.
This process of energy transference is continually occurring in all energy bodies and in all kingdoms. Perhaps of interest is this same process can be seen happening in an atom. When we appreciate what causes alterations of energy within the nucleus seen in the constant activity of polar movement unlimited energy without damage to other forms becomes available .
Where meditation towards the soul is used regularly and without attempts at overly long periods of such focus, increased amounts of spiritual energy enters the body through the mind. This form of focusing attempts to hold the negative state open, allowing more energy to enter the body. However if too much energy is absorbed by unnecessary lengths of time spent in meditation, damage can occur. Always approach meditation with common sense and work gradually towards developing the flow of spiritual energy from the soul.
This energy,once it has entered the body is mostly safely radiated out in the conscious activities of service to others. These are obviously many but where intelligent practical effort towards developing a compassionate, patient and understanding approach to all Life without seeking any personal gain, the flow of energy is naturally and safely accomplished. There are other methods of radiating this energy from the body but as yet they remain outside of the abilities of most people.
To many of us,so focused in our own lives and dreams, the reality of the importance and ability to respond to this natural flowing of spiritual energy seems too remote to be of significance. This is caused by an overly active astral body and little development within the mind.
Spiritual energy enters the body of man through the mind when it comes from the soul and an undeveloped or damaged mind or brain inhibits this in flowing.
One of the greatest causes of damage to the brain and mind, creating difficulty for the flow of energy from the soul to man is in the use of drugs. These give temporary stimulation to brain cells either weakening or destroying them and during such activity give an extremely distorted astral or emotional view of reality.
Potential responses of the mind become increasingly difficult and the connection between the soul and man is definitely weakened. This allows other energies, often very harmful, to enter and the process of the destruction of the bond between soul and man begins. If this continues over a number of lifetimes eventually there is complete separation between the soul and man,an extremely unfortunate situation to say the least, and one that should very definitely be avoided.
If you seek the path walked by the men and women before you who have become Brothers of Light avoid the use of drugs.
What is curious about the human kingdom is in the regard of drugs, other than those used for medical purposes. Some with a very obviously detrimental effect on societies are sold with great profits and honour. Others also displaying similar problems are responded to with social hostility and extreme action.
Both approaches simply indicate a society unable to clearly comprehend the dangers associated with the use of drugs.
Each of us is born with individual qualities of great possibility. In recognising and attempting to respond to them, we develop constructively the bond between soul and ourselves, allowing the vitalising energy that is termed spiritual, so important for our natural development, to flow freely. The magnetic bond between soul, man and all other lives develops strongly and Divine Energy circulates.
Eventually as we develop improved ability and can begin to consciously enhance this process, levels of energy within individual centres of the etheric body can be raised, to be radiated out where a particular need is seen. The capacity for this activity can already be seen in many people who open the door for future societies that will develop great skills in this area.
Working with spiritual energy by the intelligent approach to the Universal Law of Magnetism, displayed in the actions of attraction and repulsion, always enhances consciousness and radiated energy. Light and Love increase.
