previous Index next The soul which expresses itself through the personality/human has its own planes of existence and is part of that Soul which makes up the entire human kingdom. This in turn is part of the World Soul, seen in total as being all the kingdoms and that physical form we call the Planet. All of these aspects of SOUL can be seen in form, all forms being conscious expressions of the force that holds all life together - LOVE.
Like its personality which has three planes of existence, form, astral, mind, so too does the soul. The three planes having a more focused objective and therefore a greater ability to express the energy of love.
The factor of time has no relationship to Soul, only to its personality or form expression. Each expression or personality however, exists only for a short duration and where there is effort to develop the soul/personality bond, the Love, strength, and understanding gained is held within the soul in a particular way. This then becomes available to other expressions or form lives that this aspect of Soul seeks to develop.
Soul is eternal, the personality or physical form only of short duration.
In the passage of development for soul there are many, many lives. Some lived without progress where the bond between soul and personality is one of little activity, others where great progress is made. Each personality as it enters into form life carrying with it the wisdom gained, the knowledge of that which strengthens the aspect of Love which is the purpose of that expression of soul, all gained over many lives, has the choice to continue the development or delay. Either choice is the privilege of the personality.
Sometimes a life lived in a way which does not seem to be progressing, is in fact re-grouping and consolidating that which has already been learned.
To judge a path walked by a personality is to assume knowledge of the souls purpose and direction. This approach is one of restriction.
Thus lifetime follows lifetime, each an expression of soul, some adding to the store of knowledge and wisdom, others not; and so the soul grows. Learning how to express Love in form, gaining the energy of shared Love from other forms, increasing the Light of the world.
Matter as we understand it and which makes up the form body of the personality, is common only to the plane we see with our eyes, that which makes up the body of soul is constructed out of the energy of thought or mind and is known as the Causal Body. In some writings it is referred to as The Temple of Solomon.
This body of energy can be reached by the personality without great difficulty and lives lived in the past development of the soul can be seen in outline. For those who attempt to reach this understanding there are two main problems The first is the tendency by the personality who seeks this knowledge to ignore the awareness that they already have all the necessary attributes needed for present development. The second is that it tends towards increasing the illusion of the personality as to their circumstances being caused by past lives, of greatness or not; with the result of stimulating old paths of growth at the expense of the new being looked for by the present soul/personality.
In referencing past lives the historical development of consciousness in form can be seen and understood. But only when the purpose or directed will of the soul is known is it of use, Approaching the Temple of Solomon without this knowledge only produces confusion and illusion.
Aspects of Soul enter and re-enter into the life of form and personality as groups seeking a particular energy of development which is available at any given point in time and space. Many have traveled together in this way for lifetimes, sometimes as friends, sometimes as enemies; sometimes as men, sometimes as women; some are aware of each other, others are not. And as lessons are understood and the Light increases the soul/personality moves on to other groups always seeking improved ability to express Love and Wisdom. These groups are our true family.
No contact is by chance. Past life can be seen in the people that surround each of us. How we approach them is dependent on our regard of present life.
The causal body is not only built upon lives lived in the past, but is also dependent on lives lived now and in the future. Plan for the future. A life lived with strong practical love overcomes weakness of the past. This is the body of the soul.
Soul consciousness seeks to express LOVE that aspect of energy which is its reason for existence. This consciousness is a part of every soul/personality bond in the human kingdom.
In the West it is spoken of as the consciousness of Christ, but without any realisation of what is being referred to.
A soul that has the aspect of consciousness developed will express through its personality great Light and great Love. Each of us walk this path. A personality that has a soul beginning to show its consciousness in form will display Love and Wisdom in the activities of life. They will act as a centre of encouragement for others. There have been, and are, many men and women who display the activity of soul consciousness, bringing to those around them practical Love and encouraging the same action.
In times of great antiquity this state of soul consciousness was referred to as The Wisdom of Solomon. It can be seen being expressed in many other titles in developing races throughout time. But always it has the same meaning. The consciousness of the soul expresses LOVE and WISDOM.
The consciousness of the soul seeks that Path which will guide it to those planes beyond in so doing it responds to the Will of God. In the personality this activity can be seen in the use of the mind and the attempts to unite the soul and personality in conscious display. This is known as purpose within the human kingdom. A life lived with purpose brings Light.
A Being of Light is simply a soul living the Will of God.
The three planes of soul, briefly outlined can be seen reflected in the personality. Activity in one reflects activity in the other. This brings in a very old adage--as above, so below.
It will be seen that two triangles are being described, one for the soul, one for the personality.
When an awareness of the dual nature of life was reached the following symbol was used
This symbol shows the three points of balance necessary for the fire of Love, that energy that holds all life together, expressed through both the soul and personality and indicates the natural union of each.
This marriage of soul and personality produces only Light and Love.
Where it does not occur only darkness prevails.
The history of the human kingdom is not as we suppose based upon events ofacquisition, of race against race, people against people, war and economic gain and loss as nations and empires come, live fleetingly only to disappear into the distance of time. These and all other movements we regard as comprising the heritage of our history are merely reflections and responses to events which are themselves the originators of change.
The history of human kind is far older than we suppose, and is based upon the development of consciousness in form. The slow and steady growth of the light that each form expresses individually as a personality, collectively as a race, or nation, and overall as the Human Kingdom.
This slow and steady growth can be seen as Light by the ones who watch from a distance, and by ourselves as our ability to increasingly respond practically with applied love in all the events of our daily lives.
The overcoming of fear, racial intolerance, self-interest, lack of humanity, as we increasingly become aware of the understanding we are all expressions of the One Life we call God. And that each and every one of us are on the path, some aware, some not, of developing that aspect of Love which is our privilege to live, our reason for existence.
All life is an expression of Love or God Therefore all life is sacred. Each event of our life, no matter how small or unimportant it may seem, contributes if approached with Love and the awareness of the sacredness of life, to increasing the Light within each, and the collective Light of the Human Kingdom.
The true history of this kingdom on our world and the history of worlds beyond, which too are embarked upon the journey of greatness, some more advanced than the point we have reached, others yet to gain this level, is based upon the Light given off, the conscious-response of the personality to the Path of Life or God.
A life lived in this manner is one imbued with purpose and actuated by intention.
The history of our Kingdom if viewed in this manner can be seen in the events which have encouraged this Purpose and our response to them.. History is a record of Humanity's cyclic reaction to some in- flowing divine energy, to some inspired leader, or to some Avatar.
The entire system of the development of Love in form is based upon the inter-dependence if all, of a planned and conscious linking and of the transmission of this energy from one aspect of divine energy to another. From God to the most humble human being, no matter where they are. Everywhere this transmission is to be found.
Always the appropriate way is found where divinity can reach and communicate with humanity. These instruments of divine energy have been called Avatars.
An Avatar is one Who has a capacity to transmit energy or divine power. Down the ages, great and divine Representatives of God embodying Purpose have affected the entire world in such a manner that Their names and Their influence are felt for thousands of years long after They no longer walk among us.
Again and again They have come and left a changed world.
All the world Avatars express two basic incentives: the need for God or the energy of Love to contact Humanity, and the need of Humanity for this contact, help and knowledge. An Avatar is consequently a spiritual event, coming to us to bring about great changes, or major restorations, to inaugurate a new civilisation, to lead humanity forward to the Light.
The history of Avatars is paralleled by the understanding within Humanity of the continuity of revelation.
They come in times of crisis when the direction or purpose of the human kingdom becomes clouded, where the soul and personality bond needs the stimulation of new growth.
It is the "massed intent" or united demand of humanity to seek this growth which calls forth an Avatar. At every great human crisis, the founding of a new race, the awakening of humanity to a new and wider vision comes a Teacher, World Saviour, an Illuminator, an Avatar, giving a message which will heal, indicate the next step to be taken by humanity, illuminate the darkness of a world problem.
Radiating the Light upon the sons of men who know not yet they are the Sons of God.
The development of spiritual or humanitarian recognition in all fields of human endeavour today, seen in the attempts to overcome racial, intolerance, economic separatism, political and social barriers which deny the development of goodwill amongst all peoples, the work to correct relations with other kingdoms and the efforts by many to assist those about them, seeking knowledge to improve this ability, is all in preparation for an Avatar.
Our history has shown that these are the needed efforts required before such a Teacher can appear. All these efforts, no matter how small they appear, create a situation which makes the understanding and the ability to respond to the new and incoming energy of Love and Wisdom possible.
To assist humanity in this period of growth and change, there are many men and women who by their endeavours in all fields of life, some with full understanding of what they do, others because they simply respond to the urgent need of those about them, prepare the way for the new teaching.
Where we see these efforts occurring we have the choice to assist or to ignore that which is being done. No effort at assistance is wasted where it is attempted in the name of God - Love Humanity.
Where there is no effort the problem of darkness prevails.
One of the more recent Light Bearers responding to the causes of human trouble taught -
Cease to identify yourselves with material things or with your desire.
Gain a proper sense of values.
Cease regarding possessions and earthly existence as of major importance.
Right relations to God - right relations to your fellow man.
These are the Four Noble Truths of Buddha.
The Christ who was also a Saviour, World Teacher, carrier of Light, taught that Love was the force of energy that exists in all life and in all members of the Human Kingdom.
He carried such strength of this energy of Love with Him, that for all those ones who so many years ago sat and listened to His words, each who heard had the Fire of soul consciousness touched and woken.
From that point and for lifetimes lived later, each soul which expressed itself through a personality, carried and increased this Fire. These people worked and shared love with their fellow men, becoming points of understanding, and strength based upon love for all. They carried and increased the Light.
Over lifetimes they appeared, and still do, in countries and races and nations, often far from each other, always in their efforts sharing and helping the Light grow all about them. For some a task of great hardship, persecution and pain. They are the men and women of our life who knowingly or not, in all the work they do, no matter what that may be, carry with them that Fire of Love brought to life within them by the Christ.
He was the first to anchor the force of Love to our world. And from our future view of this life we all live, we will be able with this understanding to grasp more clearly and to perceive more clearly, the Purpose within all.
Let this Purpose be one of light and Love in everything we do.
To work with, and live with, and regard each other in this way is all that is required of a Pilgrim, - a Prodigal Son.
The freedom to do this should be guarded by each as the most treasured gift we have.
Pilgrim walk with the steps of strength, Love and Wisdom.
